Kate Reimann is a St. Louis-based soprano praised for her vocal quality, musicianship, and generosity of spirit.
She has delighted local audiences with her performances at Union Avenue Opera, Winter Opera Saint Louis, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, The Pulitzer Arts Foundation and Gateway Opera, a chamber opera company she cofounded in 2014.
Her favorite opera roles have included La Contessa in Il nozze di Figaro (Vancouver Summer Opera Workshop) The Widow in Argento’s The Boor (Gateway Opera) Die Waldvogel in Siegfried (Union Avenue Opera) Laetitia in The Old Maid and the Thief (Gateway Opera) and Mimi in La Boheme (Washington University Opera)
Kate has appeared as a soloist with the St. Louis Symphony in Mendelssohn's A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Beethoven’s Mass in C Major, Nielsen’s Symphony No. 3, and Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music
A section principal for the St. Louis Symphony Chorus since 2007, Kate has covered solos in Mozart’s Requiem, Brahms’ Requiem, Carmina Burana, Messiah, and Vaughan Williams’ A Sea Symphony. She has performed with the SLSC at Carnegie Hall four times, singing the work of Brahms, Britten, John Adams and Meredith Monk.
As artistic director of Gateway Opera, Kate was especially proud to produce works by women creators and composers, such as 15 Minute Mozarts (Caetlyn Van Buren), Snow White Turns 60 (Dale Trumbore), The Breakup (Eva Kendrick) and The Clever Artifice of Harriet and Margaret (Leanna Kirchoff).
In the spring of 2024 Kate was invited to be an Artist in Residence with Missouri Baptist University Opera, performing the famous Gavotte scene from Massenet’s opera, Manon.
In 2025 Kate continued her solo work with the SLSC as the cover for the soprano solo in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony and as a featured soloist in “A Celebration of Voice,” a concert celebrating the St. Louis Symphony Chorus!
Kate received her Master’s Degree in Music from Washington University and her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Butler University.
